Synopsis

Three years into marriage... fed up with a husband who does nothing around the house and only acts spoiled—he throws tantrums and won't get up in the morning, his eyes glued to his smartphone screen even during conversation, the table left filthy with food scraps, the toilet seat left up—each sigh escapes her lips unbidden. No matter how many times she tells him, her husband Takaomi never changes, leaving his wife Miwako feeling more drained with each passing day. Three years in, they've grown completely comfortable with each other, their relationship more like parent and child than husband and wife, and lately this life has become increasingly unbearable for her. Then one day, her eye catches a language lesson advertisement tucked into the newspaper. She starts the language lessons hoping to add some color to her lackluster life, where she meets Ayumu Kemmochi, a married man. He teaches her the joy of talking with people in a space that's neither work nor home, and her heart begins to brighten. Kemmochi-san looks her in the eye when they talk, and gradually Miwako finds herself comparing him to her husband Takaomi. The daily routine of cleaning up after her husband's messes—if she thinks of it as a wife's duty, then perhaps it is... She doesn't hate her husband, she doesn't want to throw away this life—those feelings were certain, at least. Little does she know this will lead each of their marriages in completely unexpected directions...
