About this title
Synopsis
A physician named Mao, who had been involved in end-of-life care, is reincarnated as a demon lord. And now, visible only above human heads, she can see the time remaining until their death.
One day, the strongest hero, Alvis, arrives at the demon lord's castle. The number above his head reads—six days and twenty-three hours remaining. He has told no one about the curse that shaves away his lifespan each time he draws his holy sword. The only one who noticed was the demon lord he was trying to kill.
Each time he strikes at her, Mao heals him.
"Why do you save me?"
"When someone's dying in front of me, I save them. Do I need any other reason?"
For the first time in his life, someone told him they wanted him to live—not as a hero, but simply to live. And it was the enemy he was supposed to kill who said it. From here begins the hero's obsession.
—Are wanting to save someone and loving them the same thing?

Chapter Two: Has the Hero's Remaining Lifespan Stopped!?
(Alvis Rent)
The hero Alvis Rent's remaining time has stopped. At six days and twenty-three hours, the number won't move. The curse mark has also begun to recede. But that doesn't mean he's been cured. Time in this world cannot be created, only transferred. The amount that's stopped is being paid for by someone, somewhere. You can see the remaining time only above humans' heads. Nothing appears above the heads of the demon race. And you haven't seen above your own head for six years. The church has begun selecting the nineteenth, and in the village at the mountain's base, children from eight to fourteen years old are lining up of their own accord. "Even if I stop dying, will you stay by my side?" You still haven't answered that question from the night of the seventh day. ——Are wanting to save someone and loving them the same thing? Chapter Two, 5 episodes in total.
