Synopsis
Tōno Akari touches people's bodies every day. As an emergency medical technician, he presses down on the chests of those whose hearts have stopped, enduring the sensation of bones creaking beneath his hands, yet never stopping. "Don't let fear of breaking something make you stop"—that became his creed from the day his hands froze for just a moment during his first CPR attempt, and he couldn't save that person.
That's why he isn't afraid of touching people. He just doesn't understand being touched. In twenty-nine years, he has never once reached out to someone of his own accord.
At this station, there are five men like that. A man who won't let go once he's grabbed hold. A man who never touches the scene. A man who only touches the living. A man who wants to be touched.
